Implant Supported Over-Dentures & Hybrids

If loose dentures aggravate you, consider the latest in denture technology:  Implant Supported Dentures.

Generally, there are three types of implant supported over-dentures: the Locator Over Denture; Hader Bar; and a Hybrid Over Denture.

The Locator Over Denture fits over three to four implants (per arch) which serve as “buttons”.  The denture then is snapped in and out.  These dentures have excellent retention. (They don’t move!)

The Hader Bar is a custom made metal bar that is screwed on over several implants (typically four). This bar serves to hold the dentures that are “snapped” in.  This implant supported over denture also has excellent retention.

The Hybrid Over Denture is a denture that is screwed into approximately 6 implants.  Thus, patients don’t remove this kind of denture. It has the advantage of using a lot less acrylic. Teeth can be made of reinforced plastic, porcelain or zirconia.
