How Are CEREC Restorations Made?

CEREC is a high-tech intra-oral camera that uses advanced digital technology to create your custom porcelain crowns, veneers, inlays, or onlays – all in a single visit!

We use the CEREC Primescan to take a digital scan of your teeth (no messy impressions required!), then use this scan to digitally design a precise, natural-looking restoration tailored to your smile and bite using advanced 3D software.

The restoration is then milled right here in our office from a solid block of high-quality EMAX porcelain, a material known for its strength, longevity, and lifelike appearance. After the milling is complete, we apply stain and glaze to customize the shade and surface texture to mimic the patient’s natural teeth. The restoration is then heated in a porcelain oven to crystallize and strengthen the material.

Once it’s ready, we bond the restoration securely to your tooth. This precise process minimizes the risk of future decay, leakage, or detachment, giving you strong, beautiful results that last!
